| Civilians | Hi Parastoo , Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :-) There are three palces where you can change the date format and when you go between software programs they must be the same. So: 1. Control Panel - find the Regional and Language Options, which is probably set up for your country and note the Date format set up for your computer. 2. Excel - select all the columns containing dates and go to Format/Cells/Date and select the same format. 3. Project - Tools/Options.../ View tab and select the same Date format. However, it is possible that the date format for your country is not available in Project. If this is so, then you will have to accept an alternative in Project and then reset Excel to match. If that still doesn't work, you may have to select a different setting for your Region. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/> Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :-)) Mike Glen MS Project MVP mousavi wrote: > i can find the correct format. > thanks > > "Rob Schneider" wrote: > >> What happens when you type the date as: >> 01/28/2004 (mm/dd/yyyy) >> or >> 20/01/2004 (dd/mm/yyyy) >> or >> jan 28, 2004 (mmm dd, yyyy) >> >> Based on the information you provide, it appeas as those "2004 >> January 2004" is not one of the formats the wizard screen knows hwo >> to interpret. >> >> I don't know what date format your computer/country uses, so try both >> mm/dd/yyyy and dd/mm/yyyy to see which works. >> >> Hope this is useful to you. | Civilians | What happens when you type the date as: 01/28/2004 (mm/dd/yyyy) or 20/01/2004 (dd/mm/yyyy) or jan 28, 2004 (mmm dd, yyyy) Based on the information you provide, it appeas as those "2004 January 2004" is not one of the formats the wizard screen knows hwo to interpret. I don't know what date format your computer/country uses, so try both mm/dd/yyyy and dd/mm/yyyy to see which works. Hope this is useful to you. Let us know. rms parastoo mousavi wrote: > the error is" this is not a valid date , or is outside the range for date , > type a date in the correct format; forexample , 6/15/2032 or jun 15,2032" . > in the tool option i change the format of date as following '2004 january > 28 '. the format of my dates likes it . but this problem accures. the range > of my date is from 2004 september 5 to 2004 novenmber15. > > "Rob Schneider" wrote: > > >>What is the exact error message?
