Default Sprite Backup Reliability?

Simple question, can Sprite backup restore a Pocket PC reliably to a
previous state in the same manner that an application like Norton Ghost can?
i.e. if I save a full backup of my pocket pc and then at a later date want
to return to that working version of the pda, can I just execute a Sprite
backup and revert to the version of the pda that was backup up even if this
is from a hard reset? RELIABLY?
All views welcome
Patrick

I don't know if it always works, but twice I restored my PDA with Sprite
backup when I had to do a hard reset. Once the backup was on a memory
card and the second time saved to internal ROM. Both times it worked
perfectly and it was up and running in a couple of minutes.

Any backup can fail, it's up to you to verify it if you have concerns.

I use it all the time, thru several hard resets .. There are some caveats,
like don't backup the mail folders,. and it doesn't work with certain aux
storage, but it has saved my butt several times!

How does one prevent it from backing up mail automatically (manually you
just untick the box, but am thinking about when, say, the battery hits 10%
charge)?

Well I did a backup when I had my iPaq just where I wanted it with the best
set of tools installed and then checked it for speed etc. I then did a hard
reset and checked speed again,,, seemed pretty much the same speed (have a
fair few Today plugins running and was wondering how they were affecting
performance). Did a full restore with Sprite and everything is back exactly
the way it was. Cool

question...in past versions there was a problem using the self executing
backup with the h5555....has this been resolved in version 3?
