| Civilians | I do not know whether this is a clue or not. I had serious problems with the Wlan module in my 5450. I was in contact with HP support but they did not really give me any advice. I had no firmware version and no MAC address for the module so I really suspected that they had neglected something during a recent repair. I did something queer. I put the SIM card of my GSM phone into the SIM socket - and see what happened. The WLAN led started to blink, a antenna icon appeared on top of the display and suddenly I could connect to my WLAN for the first time in months. There must be some sort of support for the SIM socket in the OS (Pocket PC 2003). Doesn't it? After I had "activated" the wlan module this way I have had no more problems with it! The HP rep was, if not surprised, neglecting that there were any contacts for the SIM in the socket, which there were, and could of course not give any advice for its use... ![]() -- gunnarh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gunnarh's Profile: http://www.ppczone.net/forum/member....nfo&userid=695 View this thread: http://www.ppczone.net/forum/showthr...?threadid=4674 |

| Civilians | The only way that could happen is if somehow you got one of the prototype HP's that was never released to the public, but do show up at times. Normally there are no contacts for the SIM card and not wired to anything. The SIM slot was to support a GSM type phone which yours would not have the RF equipment to handle unless you got one of the few units that have about a 1 inch antenna on the right side of the PDA as you are looking at it. | Civilians | With my 5450 I have experienced that removing the battery and reinserting it again usually solves problems where the WLAN has stopped working. This might be the case for you as well, so inserting the sim card really had no effect, but removing the battery in the process solved the problem. /Crilles -- Email: Fjern valutaen fra følgende adresse: Email: Remove the currency from the following adress: crilles@dollarstiscali.dk "gunnarh" <gunnarh.14snl7@timelimit.yourserver.com> wrote in message news:gunnarh.14snl7@timelimit.yourserver.com... > > I do not know whether this is a clue or not.
