| Civilians | I installed Hexacto's Slurp game, it was great fun, but it does awful things to my IPAQ 3835 machine. After running the game, I can no longer shut off the PDA with the power button, a soft reset doesn't even seem to bring it back properly. I had the same issue with a Risk game I tried as well. If it makes a difference, I'm running Version 3.0.11171 (Build 11178). Most applications are installed on the 128MB SD card. Never thought to try installing them in the main memory; might that make a difference? Clint |

What I normally do is pop the SD card into a card reader, then copy all of the data off that card, then format the card using the reader. Seems to jump start the card again. P.S. make sure you verify all your data was copied properly before formatting ! Hope this helps -- Brad Isaac editor, www.pocketpcaddict.com |

| Civilians | Hmmm. Guess I should get my card reader working then. Thanks for the hint. I've been thinking of backing everything up; perhaps this is my hint that it's about time. For the most part, I use the PDA to keep my schedule and contact list with me, so there's really not much to lose besides the stuff I never seem to use anyway. But what's kind of weird is that some applications continue to work fine, including ones I've installed between the Risk and the Slurp game. I install everything to the SD card, but some apps (ok, games) work fine and only 2 of them caused me problems like this. | Civilians | Been there, done that, got a virtual t-shirt. Remove the Slurp game, the system goes back to normal. Install the Slurp game, and the symptoms come back. Done that several times. Tried installing it in the main memory tonight, and it didn't seem to help. Didn't try it without the SD card in the system at all, but I don't see where that would really help. At the point that it goes to never never land, I can't get into the control panel to see if it's tied up all the memory on the machine (i.e. memory leak) or what. If only the game wasn't fun, this wouldn't be a problem at all! ![]() Clint "Brad Isaac" <admin@pocketpcaddict._DOT_com> wrote in message news:r1lr70hkvvec2ts7rakeoe96prg87gca63@4ax.com... > On Wed, 14 Apr 2004 16:29:07 -0600, "Clint Neufeld" > <noone@nowhere.invalid> wrote: > > >Hmmm. | Civilians | I ran the game last night without the SD card even in the system (took it out, started up the PDA, then started the game). Did the same thing. Blech!
