I'm a 34 year-old, divorced mother of 3 (Megan - 14, Mallory - 10 and Eli - 8). I live in central Ohio. I'm an administrative assistant for corporate counsel at a large close-out retailer. I was married for 9 1/2 years, divorced for 3...and happily so. I'm very proud of my independence and ability to take care of myself, my children and my home. It's not easy!

Politics/Religion: The state of our country today has forced me to label myself as a republican. I will not follow any party blindly, but I happen to put a lot of faith in the current administration. I belong to the Wesleyan Church, but am not good at practicing my faith the way I should. It's important for me to improve myself every day...by looking outside of the box, encouraging those that I love (and yes, I'm referring to some of my friends here also), holding myself responsible for my actions, maintaining my body, mind and soul.

My interests include: military history, current events, reading, writing, learning, yoga, softball, Highland dancing, hiking, canoeing, watching football and hockey. I'll try anything once.

Weaknesses: I try to be honest at all times although I'm guilty of withholding my true opinions to protect other's feelings. I wouldn't want other's withholding their true opinions of me, so I'm fighting this tendancy within myself always. I go a little too far sometimes when I'm joking. I always regret it.

I respect honesty above all else, but also humor, intellect and compassion. I stay out of threads in which I have no knowledge, but I do read them.

I'm a Ohio State Buckeye and Miami Dolphins fan. Green is my favorite color too, Hannibal. (He He, suck up points?) Just kidding.

My name is Beth, and I am an Tracpadsaholic.. thought I would mention that first. LOL

Ok, I am a 26 1/2 year old mother of two boys (third child on the way) and happily married to a sexy sailor aboard the USS Mobile Bay in San Diego, CA. This is my second marriage (and hopefully my last). I am originally from Chicago, so the weather here is quite baffeling to me at times.

I do not have many political views except when it has to do with highly controversal topics such as abortion, capital punishment, health care or immigration. I try not to debate on Presidental candidates, because to be honest, I do not have room to complain if I do not vote. I am not "offically" registered for the State of CA and therefore do not have a voters card. But, I shall get one, soon.

I like discussions regarding child discipline and schooling and have started a few good threads regarding those back in the "Old Country". Here I am just "touching base" to get a feel of this place.

I am generally nice, but dont mind saying what I need to say. I try not to offend anyone and if I have wrongfully done so, then I have no quelms about apologizing to a said someone. I enjoy a debate, but if it becomes personal, then I back out; because, honestly, I dont have time to sit on the computer throwing insults back and forth to someone I have never met. That is just me.

As for work, please see my post in the "Day Jobs" thread, and it will explain it all. I am looking forward to being back out in the work force as soon as my husband is up for shore duty and things are a bit more settled.

I have four cats and one dog. Anything else? Hmmm, oh yeah, this one is for SherryGrace, I like balls.

My name is Rick Saunders. I'll be 32 in March. I am happily married to my wife Denise(Littlemissdangerous), and i have a 13 year old step daughter. I was born in West Virginia, but was primarily raised in northern Ohio.

I enlisted during Desert Shield in 1990, and entered OSUT at Ft. McClellan, Alabama in 1991. My MOS was 95B, Military Police. My first unit was the 555th MP CO., which was a MP Corps combat unit stationed at Ft. Lee, Virginia. The unit had regular rotations to Panama and Honduras, but in 1992 we deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to oversee Haitians refugees detained at Camp Bulkeley for Operation GTMO.

In 1993, i PCSed to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. I was assigned to the garrison MP unit there, SB MP CO. While in that unit, the Navy requested our assistance at Barking Sands Naval Base on the island of Kauai. A planned Star Wars missle launch and detonation was garnering hostilities from the local populace. Well trained in riot control, we were able to handle the situation effectively.

In 1994 i was temporarily assigned to the 58th MP CO, another Corps combat unit on its way to Haiti for Operation Uphold Democracy. After the invasion, the Army took over a line of warehouses, enclosed them with defensive positions, and named it Camp Democracy. My unit handled Port-Au-Prince and Camp Haitian. Upon our return in 1995, i was reassigned back to SB MP CO, and ETSed in 1996.

Besides MP school, i also went to NBC and Life in captivity(a version of SERE), and had taken courses in Special Forces Operations. I was Dopplar radar and CPR certified, as well as MOUT trained.

The Army, and the military in general, has changed dramatically both during and after my enlistment. I am not a big fan of these changes. Ft. McClellan has been shut down, and the 555th has been disbanded since my departure.

I am now a Corrections Officer for the state of Ohio. My installation is a maximum facility in northern Ohio, and my current rank is Lieutenant.

I'm Shana (pronounced Shawna). I'm 20, but I'll be 21 in March. I'm married to an Airman (gee, maybe that's where I got my name?! hehe ) and we have a 2 year old son.

I was born and raise in Texas and moved to Kentucky when I was about 10-11. When I was 17, I met my (now) husband and we've been together ever since. We will be married 3 years as of May and together 4 as of June. A month after our first anniversary, my hubby joined the USAF. Upon completion of of BMT and Tech School, we got stationed at Spangdahlem AFB, Germany - where we currently reside. My husband is AMMO, but will more than likely be cross-training at his 5 year mark and re-enlisting.

I'm proud to be a military wife. Very proud. Any of you that know me (or get to know me) will figure that out. lol

There really isn't much to me. I LOVE theatre and if I could be in a play right now, I would! I also love photography, web design, and graphics design (wow... is it just me or is this starting to sound like a personal ad?! LOL!).
