Shellie...turning 40 soon. I am "embracing" that fact! My husband and I were married 10 years ago. We have 5 kids. The oldest 3 are from his first marriage (21 yr old twins and a 19 yr old). They have always lived with us and call me mom. Our youngest are 7.5 and 2.5. There is never any reference to "step" and "bio".
My husband was deployed 2 years ago. And, no, I am NOT complaining. I have never complained. I am proud of his service. I am also excited that he is coming home in a few days!

His job is done.
Grew up in So. California less than a mile from Disneyland. I spent way too much time there as a kid!
Graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies (no, that has nothing to do with politics!) with a minor in Child Development. I student taught in 5th grade and decided I liked teaching high school better. I taught English and History until our 7 yr old was born. That is when I decided to stay home. Until then I was also on a cirriculum committee and I did freelance proofing/editing for Simon and Schuster.
My life is about my kids. I have been told that that is sad. I don't think so. They grow up too fast and need all I can give them now. We are a very close family. We are/have been involved in karate, swimming, dance, football, soccer, baseball, music lessons, boy scouts (we have 2 Eagle Scouts!), skiing and snowboarding. It is important for us to have fun.
I love this country. I thank those who have served. Being on "this end" of deployment has made me more appreciative.
