[Discussion] - Premium Memberships

We started this a while back but my time in another Army school got it put back some. Well, with costs rising now we need them. The question is, what do you get for them? Post your suggestions.

The permium memberships are important to the site and not just an excuse to get a new home computer. The sites are now well over $400 per month and while this is a labor of love for me, it is not so with the wife...

Here is the intial plan, discussions are welcome:

1. Two basic member accounts that will remain free. Enlisted and NCOs. The two premium groups will become the Jr & Sr Officer groups respectively.

2. I am looking at Jr Officers being about $20 a year and Sr being $30 a year.

3. We will also take donations on top of this as well.

Some of my questions for you:

What should the paid groups get that the basic groups shouldnt?

What should be the limit that the basic groups get if any?

What kind of bennies for premium members on the forums and site? Tbucks per month, profile addons, arcade games etc etc. Coupons for the new store/hosting services etc.

What do you think?

Quick question -- does providing the hosting cost you?

Only the marksman accounts are relatively cost free but they do take up space of course. Domain names cannot be discounted and the other hosting packages are pretty close on the profit. Once we get a larger customer base I think I will have a better feel on what the true costs will be for it.

They will be yearly based subscriptions that will give members access to higher usergroups with more priviledges. Somewhat like purchasing them in the store under the old system, but this way we start to get steady income and reward donators and premium members with services that the free members do not get.

I will have a mosy round for possible add-ons that we could offer.

I know some people may not like the idea, but how about restricting the number of games available in the Arcade, so instead of having hundreds for all (now) have only a few dozen or so and the rest are unlocked when you become a premium member?
