| Junior Officer   |  He fought in every Clime and Place ~~ RIP Dad He fought in every Clime and Place ~~ RIP Dad He had fought in every clime and place, and never lost his nerve. He was my father. Aboard the USS Miami he visited such exotic islands in the Pacific as the Marianas, Leyte, Western Caroline, Luzone, Okinawa and Iwo Jima.  He once told me about laying off of Iwo Jima and discussing with a few other Marines of taking a boat and going into Iwo Jima to help them fight. They were frustrated and mad at the fighting and wanted to help. I am taking some of my fathers ashes on the Run to the Wall which will arrive in DC. I am planing on going to the Iwo Jima Monument and help him join those Marines of so many years ago. Semper Fi Dad

I will take some of his ashes and spread them in the ocean. My brother and sister will take some and spread them in the Atlantic Ocean in Glouster, Mass, were his mothers side came from. They were fisherman back in the day, and he was the first to travel the Atlantic and Pacific oceans I will then take some of the ashes with me on the ride to DC starting out in Bakersfield and heading to DC. When I arrive there I will go to Arlington, to the Iwo Jima monument, where I intend let him join his brothers.
