Gary Bettman tries to put the best face on NHL ESPN -> OLN move, loss of 26M TV fans

Maybe Gary thinks there will be more fans at the games because not as
many will be able to see them on OLN (reaches 64 million viewers)
instead of ESPN (reaches 90 million viewers). But that is why ESPN
dropped out of the option on the contract anyway - the product has been
damaged and it is not worth what it once was. The fans feel cheated by
the loss of one year of NHL hockey due to the greed of the owners and
the players finally capitulated to that greed because they have to feed
their families after all. Don't expect the fans to come flocking to
the games live little man.

What a slap in the face to those of us wanting to watch hockey
again. I guess ESPN thinks poker and competitive eating are more
captivating than watching real athletes. I really was excited to see the
Penguin's Crosby, who Gretzky said "is the next great one". ESPN and
Bettman both screwed us on this one! Go Penguins!
