Default Ammo question
I know someone can help me with this.

I have an M1 garand and an M1A both have grenade launchers. How do I tell what kind of blanks to use for launching grenades??

My 30.06 blanks have a red plug in the end
My 308 blanks also have the red plug but I also have some that are star crimped. can I use these with the launcher???

The Rifle Grenade Launcher? I would think it would be the same type of blank as the regular ammo. Have you checked for an old M1 manual?

There were special Blank rounds made for both to fire Grenade's. However if you are going to use Dummy Sub-weight Grenades standard Blanks might do the trick. However you will probably not get the full range effect.
Also you might look hard at the Launcher for the M1A/M14. There were some models made for Rifle Grenades with Bullet Traps. This allows you to use Standard FMJ to launch, If the dummy you have has a trap. You might try Gun World to obtain Manuals for these weapons or Paladin press both are online. I would advise you not to try it till you are sure.
