| Civilians | Hi, I have some 70mm toy soldiers from Germany, circa 1900, dressed in blue trousers and a light tan tunic with a standing blue collar. One collector told me that they were to represent US troops of the period. If anyone can help, I can email a photo of the soldier in uniform. Thanks Tom Allen |

| Civilians | The U.S. Army transitioned from blue uniforms to Khaki during the Spanish-American War. By 1898, many troops were wearing a khaki tunic with sky blue trousers. The collar, epaulettes, and cuffs of the uniform were colored to represent the branch of service. The Infantry had switched their branch color from white to blue some years prior to that. The khaki uniform was extremely popular. -- Regards - Don Wagner (All you need is Love) <tallen.econind@verizon.net> wrote in message news:hgnle.271$zb.22@trndny04... > Hi, > > I have some 70mm toy soldiers from Germany, circa 1900, dressed in blue > trousers and a light tan tunic with a standing blue collar. | Civilians | Scratch the part about the trim previously being white. I could not verify this supposed factoid in any reference books.
