| Dazed and Confused ![]() | Sarge, you may find the following a useful site (mostly in French but its does translate into English - some great pre-edited images though). They work in a similar way to how I was taught to do it when I instructed in the Army: Army recognition Home Page. Army Military equipment identification and pictures of ground forces in use today from many countries Their system simply highlights key recognition features that are unique to a certain vehicle. Look at the Japanese Type 90 and the German Leo 2A4 for example, at a glance they could almost be the same wagon - amazing how many people do not count roadwheels however - only 6 on the Type 90, great, quick and simple recog feature. If you ever have trouble with a vehicle ID just p.m. me and I will do my best to assist. All I can say is that your life is now far easier to gather plenty of material to make a usable training pack. Thanks to the internet and image editing software packages (for adding highlighting arrows etc). Long gone are the days of 'Death by Overhead Projector' that my guys used to have to endure from me! Another useful tool we used to have was a scaled model table (terrain was that of the Fulder Gap in Germany). Off the shelf 1/72 or 1/76 models properly made and painted up look amazingly life like when being viewed through a set of Bino's. The model table system proved its worth several times. Especially when one of our 2nd Lt's decided to do a contact report on what he was convinced was a troop of T-72's. Imagine his suprise when I informed him "No sir they are British Chieftains, you know those vehicles we have on our Tank Park and you command!". ![]()
