First off let me Thank You for your service. You truly are American Hero’s!!

I created a “Vietnam War” picture gallery and need photos.

Members Galleries – Club Galleries – History Club - Vietnam War

I could serf the net and find generic pictures that we all have seen hundreds of times but how interesting is that? What I would like is for is the Vietnam vets of Track Pads to scan, up-load and share your photos from your tour in Nam.

If you feel that your photos are too personal and you would rather not show them I completely understand.

I'm sorry I can't help you Scott. The only picture is one of me in 1969 in Ban Me Thuot which is in my personal gallery. The rest were all lost in a house fire about 15 years ago.

Yeah, that was a bummer. The furnace overfilled with heating oil and when the burner kicked in, it exploded. The good part was that Fire Department got there in less than 5 minutes and the fire was contained in the basement. But, all my military stuff was down there and I lost it all. The basement was gutted but the rest of the house was saved, that was lucky for us.

Yes, that part was lucky, but the loss of the military stuff has to bite. Having spent most of my life around the military, I know how important all that stuff is.

What a shame! Would you mind if I copied your one Nam photo in to the gallery?

With the advent of digital photography my biggest fear is lousing my photos especially my son’s photos from his tour. So,,, back-up, back-up, back-up, I back-up my laptop hard drive to my desk top hard drive and periodically back up to DVD but I need to do a back up to a off sight location also in case of fire. What I want to do with his photos is to print out the best and file away in our “big box” of family photos.
