SOOO ANGRY...America once again ready to cave in!!

As I sit here and wait for the "official word" on whether we are going to go to Iraq or not, I start to see the seedlings of giving in to the weak of the country that I serve and protect.

FINALLY the Shennahans of America are going to taste VICTORY! What they fail to realize is that by QUITTING on something that we started, we made thier sacrafices NOTHING! These guys and gals that were KIA, DESERVE the respect that comes with us STAYING and FINISHING what we started. Let me contradict myself for a moment, I am NOT saying that we are neccessarily going to EVER WIN the war on terrorism, but we are setting ourselves up for something larger in the future. The terrorist organizations that are battling against us will see that they can strike and then after we kick thier A$$ for a while, we will NOT be willing to spill more blood and we will QUIT! I AM SOOOOO INCREDIBLY ANGRY!!!!!!! I have lost people over thier that I knew. I am not saying I lost a family member, but thier loss was a shock, several guys on my block that I live on will NEVER come home to thier families, and now Congress is saying PI$$ on them, the were an expendable part of our administration.

I would like to point out that I am not a civilian that is wishing that others go on my stead. I am one of the ones that is WAITING to GO. I am not a thrill seeker (well maybe a little, after 15 years of firefighting and now the Army...maybe it lends to such a title) I am NO way looking for people to say, "HEY look at HIM!!! HE is a HERO!" Hero's are those that do not train and ask for themselves to be put into a situation, but they perform under such conditions. I ASKED to be in the position and therefor find myself VERY uncomfortable by compliments and so forth. I never know what to say.

Maybe I am just an idiot, but I FEEL deep in my heart and soul that if we pull out and leave the country before we have controlled the problem then just as in Vietnam (which I am old enough to remember some of) we are PI$$ING on the graves of those that sacraficed for thier orders. I know that there is no answer to the problem, but I feel that weakness is weakness and we are setting ourselves up for such reprecussions from withdrawing that we will be hit over and over again by terrorists.

The words that I type are ramblings, and I am not sure if they even MAKE SENSE. However, the anger that I feel is INSURMOUNTABLE! I cannot EXPRESS correctly how I feel.

Well, I guess the bleeding hearts win once again though.

I understand what he said and I feel some of that frustration myself. I also agree with you Jason, this President won't cut and run. Our troops have done a magnificent job under harsh conditions and I am proud of each and every one of them.

I wish that all the senators would stay their butts out of it and let the Generals do their jobs. If they would have let them do their jobs without their hands tied behind their backs , our men and women would have been home by now. The stupid lumps didn't learn anything from past wars.

I also agree with you barron. Generals are the ones with the experience to conduct war, not politicians. Once they made the commitment they should butt out of it and leave it to the professionals.

I understand your frustrations, but reduced troop levels are not necessarly bad thing. Just as long as we can still complete our assigned missions. We might even consider this progress.

After all a smaller presence in Iraq presents a smaller target for insurgents.

It also gives us a smaller force to react to those insurgents. Which is better?
