Default F.e.a.r

I was waiting for this title to go from 49 bux to the normal 29 bux after 3-5 mos. after release. Well, as sometimes happens, that was not possible. The game never dropped in price, and now it's no longer available in retail stores. Well, not the ones near me any way. Best-Buy, Rape-Mart, Furture Shop, ect. So we got 'it' off eBay. LOL!

F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault and Recon) is a first-person close-quarters combat game for the PC. The story begins when a paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, and the government responds by sending in Special Forces. The group loses contact with the government when an eerie signal interrupts radio communications--and when that interference subsides moments later, the team has been destroyed. That's where you come in. As part of a classified strike team created to deal with threats no one else can handle, your mission is simple: eliminate the intruders at any cost, determine the origin of the signal, and contain the potential crisis before it gets out of control.
I've played the 600mb demo, and it's a lot like Doom3. However, it's a LOT creepier, with horror movie music, and this stupid little ghost girl that giggles and runs across the screen sometimes.

They enemy AI is nothing like I've ever played before. These guys don't get stuck in loops, or anything. They will hide behind pillars and toss grenades at you, and time attacks with your reloads and shooting 'style'.

I'd post screen shots, but most of them have body parts, and lot's of blood splatter, so I'll refrain. A quick google of f.e.a.r. then click images will get you some.

I don't have the game in hand at the moment, however it's eagerly being waited on.

Default Re: F.e.a.r

I have game in hand. Let's just say the demo did it no justice. This game ROCKS!! Fast paced, great enemy AI, and a hint of the creeps. I mean, the 'pagan' stuff in Doom3 did nothing for me, but ghosts creep me out.

If you believe in Angels, you also believe in demons, therefore you believe in ghosts.

Anyrate. I tossed out a 'proximity' grenade under a big office window, crouched over to the door side, and tossed a remote bomb. Since the enemy heard the bomb 'stick' to the door, they opened it. BOOM!! The other three broke and jumped out the window. BOOM!!! I leaned around the corner, and one was trying to get up. Shotgun to the face. BOOM!!!

Those were an awesome 5-8 seconds.

Once, I had this guy stuck behind a pillar. I was using metal crates for cover, he was facing a wall, and could not move. I would shoot once left, then right, to keep him pinned. He was yelling in the radio that he needed help. I was in need of a reload, and that was what he was waiting on. So with my last three rounds, I fired once, and paused. He mistook it for a reload, and I laid on in the head, one in the chest. I tossed two proximity grenades at the closed door, reloaded, and switched to the grenade launcher. Door opened, BOOM!!, second wave came in and it was rockets away.

I could go on and on, but just know that this game get's two flippers up!
