| Civilians | Hi, I have a new pc with XP SP2 on it, and I cannot connect to my old computers (also with XP SP2) to play AOE Conquerors. I'm playing on my home LAN, and all of the computers use my wireless router. I've put them all on the same workgroup, they all receive IP addresses via DHCP from the router, and all the firewalls have been turned off. The old computers can create or connect to each other. They can see games which are created on the new computer, but cannot connect to them. The new computer cannot see any games created on the old computers. When I use OpenPorts, I can see that the old computers do some kind of handshake to establish a connection. They actually seem to set up two one-way connetions, each with its own port number, and the comment is 'ESTABLISHED'. The new computer appears to have connected to the old computers, but never manages to set up two one-way 'ESTABLISHED' connections. I've tried port forwarding and turning off SMS (as suggested by various threads), all to no avail. Anybody know how to fix this problem? I saw a reference to someone named 'Larry Fischer' on discussions.microsoft.com who said he had the answer, but the html page he referred to came up empty. I tried emailing him at larryfischer@discussions.microsoft.com, but the email bounced. Anybody know how to get in touch with him? Thanks, Allan |
