Default HL high def pack in steam?

Is it possible? I tried installing it into the relevant folder in
steam but it's a no-go.

Cheers

AFAIK, the high def pack is incompatible with steam, unfortunatly. Last I
heard, vALVE were looking at ways to add it to Steam, along with Blue Shift.

Well, a bit of playing around and I now have the HiDef pack in steam.
Send me 10 bucks for the answer
Ah what the hell, have it for free. All I did was use pack explorer to
extract the contents of pak1.pak into the valve folder - job done!
