I have AMD64 3200+ and Albatron K9X800 Pro2 mobo
it has Envy 24PT sound 7.1 drop dead onboard sound,
24 bit 192khz surround sound etc.
and the sounds do run fast in BF1942.
DC sound is speeded up, so is all the weapon loading animations........... ?
some of the FH sounds on some of their maps play so fast its ridiculous.
ambient shellfire and bullets sound like crickets.
but others sound ok, including the WAW maps for FH.
it could be the embedded WAV files in the maps or the big CODEC pack I have
installed.
ACEMEGA codecs etc.
Albatron seem to not do much with driver updates, so prob best to avoid them
for AMD64.
I should have bought ASUS..........
also I get nasty kernal errors when I try to install win XP with the AMD64,
so am stuck back with Win98 SE.
tried the Windows 64 beta, but hardly any drivers and as coundnt get the
network working agh.
the PC hardware driver scene at the moment is pretty bad.

True, but it *works* - unlike BF:V

Hehe...anyone else get the "chipmunk" effect with onboard AC97 prior to,
err, 1.2 or something?

Default BFV and BF1942 meld

What intrigues me the most is the use of the bfv engine to redo all
the maps for bf1942 and post it as a WW II mod for bfv the screenshots
in the about section of the bfv 1.1 patch looked great. this is a
great way to keep bf alive till bf2 arrives, jsut use a mod to add
bf1942 to bfv.....

I think it's a kind of threat to the existing WW2 who decided to switch.
As far as I know FH didn't though it wouldn't be a loss ;^), BG42 will
change after releasing 1.0 for BF1942.

It seems evidence that EA finally pulled their head outta' their ass and
figured we like BF1942 gameplay SO MUCH more than Vietnam. 1.1 hasn't
seemed to add much for me and I keep going back to 1942 and the plethora
of mods again and again.
