Default 56k kick and spawn bug

Are they working on a fix for the 56k kick and spawn bug? Weird, its been 5
days broke and no roll back or patch. What exactly was the patch suppose to
fix anyway, besides keeping us modem losers out of the games?

Because he wants to play BF1942 online?

AFAIK the game is playable on a 56k connection on servers that are
geographically close. Not perfect, but better than nothing.

To the OP: Could you explain what the 56k kick and spawn bug is?
Someone might be able to help. You said its been broken for 5 days,
there was a Punkbuster patch around that time which seems to have caused
a few major problems, perhaps that is related??

Cheers

Yeah its related... If one deletes the PB folder and re-installs PB fresh,
play is fine until it updates to the new release.

I bother cause its all we can get here. so there...

Kick & Spawn bug : Seems to have been introduced by the last PB
update. It allows you to connect to a server, but as soon as you die,
you cannot select a spawn point. You can highlight a spawn point, but
when the counter gets to 0, the "spawn point not selected" message is
displayed. Most frustrating!

Work around : Set your connection type as ISDN on the right hand side
of the server selector list. Why this should only affect 56k dialup
is anybodies guess. I tried this last night and it worked fine.

Simulate playing on a modem by introducing a 1/4 second delay into any
movement you attempt

It's generally fine, except you are limited to playing on servers with
less than 32 players and geographically close - which is fine for me,
as there are plenty of UK servers to choose from...

Depends on where the server is, but I usually have no problems finding
a server with <200 ping. That's with a 64k ISDN dialup, though.
