Default Another memory question....

My system

abit ic7-g motherboard (i875 chipset)
ati 9800 pro
WD raptor 36g (non raid)
2.26 P4 (533 FSB)
768MB of PC333 ram generic corsair (single channel)

I recently got the ic7 motherboard. I'm planning to upgrade the processor
to a 800FSB HT sometime in the future. But my question is about the memory.
I'm thinking about buying some memory, 2 sticks of 512 pc400 (I know that a
533FSB will cause it to run at PC333 but I don't want to buy again when I
goto an 800 FSB processor) How much improvement do you think there will be
to go from 768MB single channel to 1G of low latency in dual channel config?
For the most part, BF1942 is all I do on this computer.

Thanks for any input

Default Re: Another memory question....

I went from 512 to 1.5 of pc 2700 memory and noticed a big difference,
of course with the memory i have now i do ot run any memory cleaning
programs in the background now, and that may be the difference.
