Default Getting a TK when you did not TK... Question...

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Here is what happened...

I was playing DC on XCal and shot an M1A1 two times with the big gun in the
back of a Technical. I did not destroy the M1A1, but seriously messed it
up. The tank driver then turned his turret and killed me. I respawned to
see the M1A1 burning in flames. An engineer teammate ran toward it when the
tank decided to explode killing the engineer. I got charged with a TK and a
warning not to do it again! I was amused to know that I can damage the hell
out of an enemy vehicle, get killed, respawn, have the damaged vehicle blow
up and kill a teammate, and still get charged a TK.

This ever happen to anyone else or was it just a fluke?

Happened quite a few times in various guises - everthing from exploding
vehicles like youself, to a plane I bailed out of and died trying landing on
someone and killing them.

The way the kills are counted make this likely to happen. I've never
had a TK from it though, but i see how it could happen. I have often
badly damaged a vehicle, to have it explode a minute or so later and
get a kill from someone adjacent to the explosion. Another werid
thing is if you see a plane that is about to crash near you, and you
pop it once with the pistol, you will get credit for the kills when it
crashes, since you were the last one to contact it. Even though
there is no way you really shot it down with the pistol. I get
kills after death all the time, when i throw a grenade, then get shot,
then grenade blows up, and I've killed from the grave.

That's not unusual. A good AT tactic (in vanilla I suppose it might work
in DC as well) is to fire your bazooka at a vehicle, or AA gun etc.,
next to an enemy soldier. Hopefully the resulting explosion will kill,
or at least seriously injure, them. Obviously if it was a team-mate
nearby it'd count as a TK, even though you didn't hit them directly.
I've often accidentally Tked when blowing up tanks as there are
occasionally friendlies nearby trying to do the same as me, engineers
laying mines next to them etc. Also I remember being shot up a bit until
I had little health, then I fell through some barbed wire which killed
me, but the person who had been shooting me was credited with the kill.

Happens to me all the time on the Coral Sea map. I'll be in a plane trying
to get off the deck, an enemy will come along and bomb me, my plane blows
up, and instead of the enemy getting credit for killing people next to my
plane, I get charged with TKs. Then they send me nasty notes and I try to
explain it to them. While I'm typing I spawn and get killed again.
