| Civilians | ....but it wasn't that easy in the first run. The installer (setup) won't run under W2K, regardless if you activate W95 compatibility mode or not, as suggested in http://www.planetcnc.com/features/te.../classicsInXP/ Maybe the US versions of CCGold have a different installer, but my German installer version definitely won't work under W2K. So I made a clean install under W98SE, copied the whole C&C95 directory structure to my W2K machine, and applied the Westwood 'CCGold XP patch', which only replaces a local C&C network play dll. Then, and only then, it works under W2K. Hope this helps somebody who had similar problems. Raymond BTW: Maybe HeXetic adds this solution variant to his page ? |
