Default Anyone experienced with Nvidia video cards please?

I have the Nvidia GeForce4 TI 4200 with AGP8X - 128 megs of
memory. It's being used in a Gateway Pentium 4, 1 Gig of memory. The
driver for the card is now 6.1.7.6 (put in today)

Every few days, the game changes my "Terrain" graphics
settings to the lowest possible level. I can turn them back up with no
problem, but I seem to end up with a great deal of lag.

How do I set the nvidia controls to best suit the game?
Specifically, the following:

Image Settings - High Performance, Performance, or Quality
Antialiasing Settings - Application Controlled, or one of the others
Anisotropic Filtering - Application Controlled, or one of the others

I have a cable internet connection. The lag is really
noticeable when driving my Swoop through a swampy area. Maybe this is
normal?

I'd really like to get the video card set for the best
combination of speed and high quality, but I'm not a real "techy" type
(if you haven't guessed already!!!)

Thanks for any input in advance!!!

This depends on what you want.
If you want faster graphics, go for performance (id suggest it for this
game)
If you want better looking graphics, go for Quality
