Default Busy Fall

It's going to be a busy fall for games, quite a few that I'm interested
in and have to little cash for:

Half-life 2 - September 3, 2004
Stalker - September 24, 2004
Driv3r - October 22, 2004
World Of Warcraft - October 15
Prince Of Persia 2 - N/A
Auto Assault - N/A
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth - October 8, 2004
Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War - September 24, 2004
Face Of Mankind - N/A
Full Spectrum Warrior - September 24, 2004
Star Wars: Republic Commando - October 15, 2004
Dungeon Siege II - November 19, 2004
Evil Genius - October 29, 2004
Dungeon Lords
Pirates of the Burning Sea
The Bards Tale - October 8, 2004

1. Half-life2 - Anyone heard of this one?
Physics, A.I, story line, graphics, new weapons, great puzzles answers
to the questions from the first gameeeeee

Ahhh! - how was it for you...

2. Stalker - Another obscure title. The day/night cycle and wonderful
graphics should make this a terrifying game to play. In addition the
open ended nature of the game should make it highly replayable.
I'd image there will be some pretty amazing mods for this too.

3. Driv3r - Fast cars, great soundtrack, vast cities. Va va voom!

4. World Of Warcraft - The highest RPG on my list. To my knowledge,
Blizzards first attempt at a MMORPG. I loved Diablo and Diablo II took a
good chunk of my time too. I'm curious, can Blizzard learn from the
other MMORPG's mistakes?

5. Prince Of Persia 2 - The sands of time was my favourite game of '03
so there's a lot of expectation from my point of view. It's darker and
it's broody. It's got missile weapons, puzzles, acrobatic combat and it
looks stunning. But is it too French?

6. Auto Assault - Catapulted up my list after reading the interview on
how deep this game actually goes. Not just an excuse for violence this
is a true RPG but with cars, trucks, bikes and a destructible landscape.
Oh yes.

7. The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth - The RTS genre
has all but been murdered of late. To many games trying to cash in with
too little innovation in return. A new trick being employed in up and
coming RTS's is morale. Watch some of the movies for this game, they're
fluid, funny and appear to be very strategic. No more weight of numbers,
after all, since when has that won a battle...

8. Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War - Looking good, like the above, unit
morale plays a part here. Nice graphics and abundantly violent. This one
might surprise a few people.

9. Face Of Mankind - After watching the movie of this it looks very
pretty and could well surprise one or two people with it's vast ass.

10. Full Spectrum Warrior - Described by Sabaki of #Cybear as a
"tactical orgasm" and who would argue. It's pretty, it's intuitive and
American, but nothing is perfect. A strong anti-terrorist theme, this
one will do well with the punters.

There are a few others here:

That said, there is more than enough in the top 10 to keep me busy this
autumn.

Cheers

I thought 'the fall' was autumn, or is that spring?

Did I miss something?

Slightly above 60% avg. score for both Xbod PSd PS2 version. Might want to
give that one a testdrive, pardon the pun, before shelling out cash for it.

Yeah the movies didn't look that impressive. But boy Driver was too much
fun. Maybe check out the demo as you say.

It sure is, but over this side of the pond, we don't call it 'the fall'

Don't hold your breath for this one - it pains me to say, since I loved
Driver, but the reviews are unanimously poor... terrible controls for
the running, shooting bits, and uninspiring driving for the rest.
Shame!

I don't think any game can be *too* French... the phrase 'very French'
has been shorthand for quirky, stylish, absorbing and individual games
since the Spectrum. Prince of Persia was definitely French - I want
more!
