How's Life At Ft.Knox?

Compared to some places Ft Knox is all hustle and no bustle but it is a nice place. There are worse places to be!

What unit you in? I was 2-81 for a year,

As a civilian I was really imprested with Fort Knox. We were there twice, first to see my son graduate from basic training (5-15 Cav “Outlaws”)


and then to pick him up after his AIT training (Advanced Reconnaissance Specialist)


The first time we stayed off base in Radcliff but the 2nd time we stayed right in base at the "Wickam Inn"
it Had two rooms, a living room with cable TV, VCRs and free In-room internet access, a bedroom with two queen-sized beds,. The room also had cooking facilities complete with microwave and refrigerator. I don’t recall the price for the room but it was far less then the dump we stayed at in Radcliff.

Nice photos!! Compred to some posts Ft Knox is gorgeous. Some troopers dislike it because of the infamous TRADOC-ish about it but that will change soon when the Armor center moves and the new light UA gets there!

It was never like that when I was there 40 years ago!

I drove thru there about 7-8 years ago and didn't recognize a thing. Got totally lost, finally found a gate and left. 'Course I was there 41 years ago...gee, think that makes a diff?
