Robbers Hit Super Bowl Merchandise Store Store Owner Says He Will Add Security Measures DETROIT -- A Super Bowl XL merchandise store was robbed in downtown Detroit early Friday morning. Robbers smashed the front window of CZ Sports, located along Jefferson Avenue, at about 5 a.m., according to police. The intruders stole jackets worth hundreds of dollars, Local 4 reported. Detroit police noticed the broken glass at the store and notified the owner, the station reported. No arrests have been made. Robert Rea, the owner of CZ Sports, which is based out of Ypsilanti, thought having a location near Cobo Hall would not be an issue with activity in the area. He said he will add security measures to the store. The store was expected to reopen once the broken glass was cleared from the storefront and the windows were boarded, Local 4 reported. Police said robbers also broke into a Super Bowl souvenir store located at Madison and Brush streets a few days ago, where jackets were also stolen.
