| Banned ![]() | Tomorrow is the day the NFL commissioners meet in Washington and L.A. hopefuls hope to see one of three venue sites occupied with an NFL team SOON. Anaheim had the Raiders, but Georgia took them to St. Louis. The L.A. Colliseum hosted the Olympics twice and was home to Al's Raiders but then he took them back to Oakland. In Pasadena some would like to believe that the NFL will want to smell roses (although residents of the exclusive Linda Vista/Arroyo Seco surrounding the Bowl are less than enthusiastic). So, will L.A. see a new team or a transplanted team any time soon? http://kcbs.dayport.com/launcher/705...deo_player.tpl |

| Sabot Slinger ![]() | LA won't see another team unless they build a new stadium. This was the main reason for the Rams leaving Anaheim and the Raiders leaving LA. I have watched a Raiders - Green Bay game at the Colisium, and I say it's the worst football stadium I have ever been to. With the track around the field, the fans are a loooooooooooong ways away from the field of play.

| Banned ![]() | There had been talk about building a new one at Hollywood Park which is now having it's final season - I believe the track is being rebuilt at El Toro which being in Orange County means a lot more money bet on the ponies. The idea of desecrating the Rose Bowl for "luxury suites" so that the ticket prices can be absorbantly high just ticks me off so as much as the added revenue might be good for the city of Pasadena, I would hate (and I mean HATE) to see the historical significance of that beautiful bowl lost for either a relocated or expansion team and then have them decide on better digs a few years down the road as well. The Colliseum in it's day was a very good field - Home to Tommy Trojan and Helen of Troy in recent years. Again, if the historical relevance is to be lost, I would hate to see that happen. Anaheim would have to build a new stadium. Angel Stadium wasn't adequate for the L.A. Rams (in Orange County) however many years ago Georgia moved them from here and the fans demand better now. But, if there is a possible venue, I would think that Anaheim would have the advantage. BUT L.A. NEEDS AND WANTS NFL FOOTBALL ONCE AGAIN! |
