Trackpads Monthly photo contest is now open!!!! As a reminder here's the rules. THEY HAVE BEEN REVISED. The changes are underlined. They are also posted in each group/category as well.

Here's the Rules there are some changes:

Rules and other information pertaining to the Monthly photography Contest.

PURPOSE: This contest is to encourage members to not only upload their photographs into their personal or other gallery here on Trackpads. But to actually display their work for others to actually see them without needing to do a search through the many galleries.

Furthermore, in doing so, it will allow fellow members to recognize photographs and the photographers with awards. And hopefully start a growing interest in the various forms of photography, through threads discussing techniques, styles, etc.

The changes are to allow more entries to be voted on. The changes are a result of some categories only having one (1) entry. So, what I have done is the following.

CHANGES

BLACK and WHITE (BW)

1. Submitters will be allowed to submit up to two (2) entries for each BW Category.

[b]a. Each of the two (2) entries must be identified with its correct format, Black and White Print or Digital

b. MAY ONLY SUBMIT ONE (1) OF EACH FORMAT PER CATEGORY!!

c. If any BW ENTRY’s Format is not identified at the close of the submissions, that entry will be excluded from that monthly contest polls. All attempt to notify the Submitter prior to the closing date to identify the entry.

d. Submitter will be notified by a pm of this error.

COLOR GROUP

1. Combined the following categories into one (1) Color Print, Color Transparency, Color Digital into the new Category COLOR

2. Submitters will be allowed to submit up to three (3) entries for each Color Category.

[b]a. Each of the three (3) entries must be identified with its correct format, Color Print, Color Transparency, Color Digital

b. MAY ONLY SUBMIT ONE (1) OF EACH FORMAT PER CATEGORY!!

c. If any COLOR ENTRY’s Format is not identified, at the close of the submissions, that entry will be excluded from that monthly contest polls. All attempt to notify the Submitter prior to the closing date to identify the entry.

d. Submitter will be notified by a pm of this error.


ENTRÉE CLASSES:

GROUP:

1. Black and White:

a. actual black and white film
b. digital converted color image to black and white.

2. Color

a. Color Negative:
3. Color Transparency (slide) (original film)
4. Color Digital Images; (digital camera)

CATEGORIES:

A. Military

1. This Category is created to give special recognition to the world’s Armed Forces and their service members.
2. Needs to be easily identified having a Military theme.

B. People

1. Any image that include people.
2. This category EXCLUDES any MILITARY.

C. Scenic

1. Scenic, still life, nature, etc.
2. No People allowed in the image.

D. Experimental

1. Any image that does not fall into the above 3 categories, altered by computer program, none standard photograph taking.
2. Examples would include multi-exposure, reversal, polarizations, solarization, etc.
3. ALSO MUST INCLUDE: short explanation how it was achieved.

RULES:

3. Once a photograph has won, it will no longer be allowed to compete. If it does get re-submitted, that member will be baned from competing for a period of six months.

4. Submitters may not vote in any group they have submitted photographs in.

5. Each Category will be limited to the first 10 entries. This is because the max option with poll vote is limited to 10 options.

Best of Show (1 per month and 1 per year, most votes)
1st Place (awarded for most votes in each category)
2nd Place (awarded for 2nd most votes in each category)
3rd Place (awarded for 3rd most votes in each category)

PRIZES

Best of Show:

Monthly: $3000 Tbucks
Every six months: $4500 Tbucks
Yearly: $6000 Tbucks

1st Place: $500 Tbucks
2nd Place: $250 Tbucks
3rd Place: $125 Tbucks

Hi all

My entry for this month. Taken whilst doing Hurricaine claims on Grand cayman 2004 on Kodak easy share camera used by Axis my employers. I just saw the irony of the boat name!
