I rememeber working with an older Czech engineer on a co-op job. He smoked ( or had a cigarette burning ) constantly. His ash tray was in the shape of a cast iron skillet (only 3-4 inches diameter). He also bought several cups of coffee from the vending machine. I remember seeing him, on really busy days, taking the ash tray full of ashes and a stack of 8-10 empty paper cups, to the trash bin. It somehow kept him going.
