| Enlisted Warrior ![]() | Police can’t be everywhere, so 11-year-old Landon Wilburn is on patrol in the Stone Lakes subdivision in Louisville. Landon said he used to shout at speeders to slow down -- then had a better idea. Dressed in a reflective vest, wearing a bicycle helmet and armed with a Hot Wheels brand radar gun, he points and records the speed of passing traffic. The boy also carries a flashlight with a built-in siren. Subdivision resident George Ayers said he has seen drivers lock up their brakes when they saw Landon clocking them. Officials said the city will install speed humps in the neighborhood if 70 percent of residents agree and are willing to put up half the money. This is happening in Louisville, ky and reminds us to please check our speeds in neighborhoods, for the kids if nobody else. |

| Racy Ol' Lady ![]() | He's smart; and he called the speeding to the attention of the authorities. That's rather neat, isn't it!

| K-9 Unit ![]() | hehe, we used to do that with my cousin's megaphone with a built in siren, they'd never lock up but they'd definitely hit their brakes The kid might need to be careful, impersonating a law enforcement officer is a serious offense Great kid !

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | Good idea (to try to comtrol speeding in a residential area) but bad idea that it is a kid doing it. Most people don't think about speeding in a residential area until it's their child that gets hit by a speeding car and then they want something done immediately. |

| Jr. Officer ![]() | Some of my high school buddies used to tell me about have fun by slamming on their brakes and then slapping a hand against the side of the car - in city neighborhoods - just to see the women come running out. It may have taught some of them to beware of letting their kids play in an open yard.
