Believers Hear Bigfoot Cry

Some fans of the legendary beast known as Bigfoot believe they have captured his mournful cry on tape from deep in the woods of Michigan.

Members of the Bigfoot Field Research Organization, a California group, believe Bigfoot is alive and roaming Michigan`s Upper Peninsula, The Detroit News reported Sunday.

About 50 people paid more than $300 each to join a sold-out [there's a fool born every minute?]. four-day search for evidence of Bigfoot in Michigan, said Matt Moneymaker, BFRO president. 'I`m not a believer. I`m a knower,' Moneymaker said.

'You`ve had to be in total denial to say that none exist.'
The sound emanating from the woods was captured on tape Thursday night and will be added to evidence from past expeditions, including footprints and sightings, Moneymaker said.

Moneymaker is among believers whose views are bolstered by a growing number of Internet Web sites and even some prominent academics who won`t rule out the possibility Bigfoot walks among us.
