How can you rell when !

I have had an interesting morning. It reminded me of that old joke " How can you tell when you have lived here to long " . I got up and as I do most mornings I check the weather outside. This is not hard I just open the front door and look. Well this morning I opened my door and there were Two Rattlesnakes on the porch. Just coiled there enjoying the morning. Well I drank my coffee taking in the Desert with my Two new friends then placed my cup in the kitchen sink. I went out the back door and got my Hoe. I hobbled around to the front of the house and wacked both snakes. I got my shovel out and was just placing the last one in a hole when Momma appeared. She looked at the Rattler and said nice colors on that one, then wiggled her way back to the house. The point of this tale is.

You know you have lived in the Antelope Valley too long when Rattlers on the porch dont bother you any more!

They would bother me, Beasty. Paul would kill, dress and cook them. If the pair present enough meat, he would call in a neighbor.

Now I wouldn't mind eating them, but I don't want to encounter them alive!

Rattlers are very good eating. These were to small for the pot. Real thin and young. However it is the young ones you got to watch out for. They cannot control there venom sac's. When they strike they give you a full load.

An advantage to large, old snakes? I didn't know that, Beasty. But I would kill them, if they didn't get me first!

You are right kill them first then there is no problem. Just remember bury them after you kill them.

I noticed that you buried them; you can't throw them into the garbage? Is it because they can still cause harm after they're dead?
