I was up at my Fortress of Solitude yesterday and meet with the tribal land office about the addition we are building on to it and just got home. I rained all night.  on the way home today I passed this new wind generator that just went up, this freeking thing is HUGE. It’s the biggest one I have ever seen, I bet each blade is 75 yards long!!!  This pic just doesn’t show how really big this thing is. Next time I’ll have to stop and take a better photo. It’s so big it’s scary, it reminds me of the “Machine” in the movie Contact. I also stopped at a park/wayside rest area and took this photo this that is hanging on the wall there…  I am going back up either tomorrow or early Saturday. Our tribes 139th annual pow-wow is this weekend,, cant miss that.

| Jr. Officer   | Re: I love it up at my cabin Dude, if you think that is huge, you have never been to SoCal. We have heaps of those wind generators there near Palm Springs, and along the I-8 that I drive to get from Yuma to San Diego. They're hue-ige.

I am a bad boy....I took a long, hard thought and figured that it has been since 2004 that I was trout fishing in my beloved sierra mountians, or elk hunting in Colororado. Terriblly wrong. I miss my 4 weeks a year vacation time in the Marines. I guess I'm just spoiled....

| Icing Queen | Re: I love it up at my cabin What happened to my second post here? I too think the picture taken during the rain is beautiful! You should enter it in the monthly contest. I've seen windmills like that in CA, but I don't know what size they were.
