| Enlisted Warrior ![]() | After I left the corps I had a problem with settling down into civvy street and received a bit of guidance along the way. There was a former matelot whom I met. He was a chiropractor and treated me for a kneck problem. He also guided me into the world of Ninjutsu, which truly did help me to control my aggression and to more easily settle into a world that was for me at that time, becoming very difficult. I haven't seen the guy for a few years now and was deeply saddened to hear that he recently took his own life. I truly wish I had the chance just to say thank you to him, but unfortunately this was not to be. http://www.hartlepooltoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=1109&ArticleID=1775836 Regards Steve _________________ Author Of Amongst The Marines and Always A Marine |

| Monkey Mouse ![]() | What a shame. He sounds like he was a kind and caring person. He must have touched a lot of lives in his time.

| Icing Queen ![]() | Suicides are especialy sad. I'm sure he enjoyed helping you out, Steven, and in no way would thanking him have changed anything. Sometimes suicides even 'run in' families. He had other things that were bothering him.

| Icing Queen ![]() | And even if we do say the things we feel before they pass, we always think of more that we'd like to share with them. Someday we can.....

| Enlisted Warrior ![]() | I did write about his guidance in my second book, but it doesn't make things any easier. At least I'll always remember that he was the guy who guided me down the right path in life, just when I needed it most. Thanks for your supportive comments guys, I appreciate them. Regards Steve |

| Snake-eater ![]() | I think that everyone is touched and guided by someone special in their life and feels sorrow and remorse once that person is gone. Your experience with him probably helped him as much as you. Many people get much satisfaction and joy out of helping others, it helps to keep their inner demons at bay. He is at peace now.
