Default Custom Made Knives by R. B. Johnson

My cousin Ron Johnson, or other wise known in the knife world as RB, is a master knife maker. His knives HIGHLEY sought after by collectors world wide. All his knives are built from scratch many times using such exotic material as 10,000 year old blue wooly mammoth ivory, Black Lip Pearl and meteorite.

Here are some examples of his work. And more can be seen in my gallery.

Knife Specifications: Blue Mammoth Bark Lever Release
Blade Length: 3.25"
Overally Length: 7.5"
Blade Type: Modified Clip Point
Blade Composition: Stainless Reptilian Damascus
Handle Material: Wooly Mammoth Blue Bark Ivory
Bolster Composition: Eggerling Mosaic Damascus
Locking Mechanism: Back Lock
Opening: Lever Release
Additional Features: This very nice damascus folder by well known maker, R.B. Johnson, features great materials, terrific lockup and filework. The blue wooly mammoth ivory scales are some of the very nicest that I have seen and are quite striking with colors of brown, coffee, blue, green and beige. Truly awesome color!!!. The reptilian damascus is of the stainless variety, quite usable and beautiful. The bolster steel is a great multi-mosaic damascus and is also quite nice. The handle scales are held together with gold plated screws as well which adds a little extra flair.

Knife Specifications: Gold Lip & Meteorite Folder
Blade Length: 3 1/8"
Overally Length: 7"
Blade Type: Modified Clip Point
Blade Composition: Snake Skin Stainless Damascus
Handle Material: Presentation Grade Gold Lip Pearl
Bolster Composition: Gideon Meteorite
Locking Mechanism: Linerlock
Opening: Ruby Inlaid Gold Thumbstud
Additional Features: Here is another beautiful piece by RB Johnson. The handle scales are great gold lip pearl with terrific flash. The bolsters are etched meteorite and the liners are anodized gold titanium to match the pearl. The backspacer is nicely fileworked with an intricate pattern that is unique to R.B. Johnson. Gold plated screws hold it all together.

Knife Specifications: Black Lip & Damascus Folder
Blade Length: 3 1/8"
Overally Length: 7"
Blade Type: Modified Clip Point
Blade Composition: Stainless Basket Weave Damascus
Handle Material: Black Lip Pearl
Bolster Composition: Mosaic Damascus
Locking Mechanism: Linerlock

Additional Features: This beautiful piece by RB Johnson features handle scales of black lip pearl with flash of green, red, purple, yellow and hints of blue. The blade steel is the quite usable Stainless Basket weave damascus. The bolsters are etched mosaic damascu\s and the liners are anodized gold titanium to match the pearl. The backspacers are fileworked in a sort of tooth pattern which is unique to R.B. Johnson's knives. Gold plated screws hold it all together.

Every time I visit my cousin he has something new for me. The other day and he gave me this slice of meteorite, or as he calls it ‘Mettle from God” the crystallization comes from cooling one degree every ten thousand years.

He is a skilled craftsman. I've seen a few nice knives but none like those. Any idea on what he charges for any of those pictured?

Here’s a link to KNIFEART.COM to give you an idea.
You can also Google RB Johnson knives and get hits on his work.

Ron travels to Paris France every year to the worlds largest knife show and there he gets most of his orders for the year.
