Default Texas executed its 11th for 2006

What a complete animal! This monster needed to die. And we have 14 more, just like him, scheduled to be terminated this year...so far.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (Reuters) - A Texas man was put to death by lethal injection on Tuesday for the 1992 ax-murder of his girlfriend.

Timothy Titsworth, 34, was condemned for killing Christine Sossaman, 26, as she lay sleeping in the bedroom of the mobile home they shared in Amarillo, Texas, on July 23, 1992.

Titsworth said he was high on crack cocaine when he struck Sossaman about 16 times with the ax. Sossaman told a friend the day before the attack she was going to ask Titsworth to move out because she thought he was stealing from her.

After the attack, Titsworth took Sossaman's car and some of her personal items, which he sold to buy crack cocaine. Over the two days following the murder, Titsworth and other crack addicts returned to the home to take more items to sell.

In a final statement while strapped to a gurney in the death chamber, Titsworth apologized to Sossaman's daughter, Megan.

"Know that today I hope you get peace and joy," he said. "I am sorry that it has taken 14 years to get closure. If it would have brought closure or brought her back, I would have done this years ago. I promise. I promise."

Titsworth was the 11th person executed in Texas this year. He was the 366th put to death since the state resumed capital punishment in 1982, six years after the U.S. Supreme Court lifted a national death penalty ban, a total that leads the nation.

For his final meal, Titsworth requested beef fajitas with jalapeno peppers, a rib eye steak with a baked potato, beef enchiladas with cheese and Mountain Dew soda.

Texas has 14 additional executions scheduled, so far, for 2006.

.....ahem.....I know tyhat there are alot of people in here that think that government killing is immoral and reprehensible.....but I believe that there are some animals (I cannot call them humans by any stretch of imagination) that need to be put down.

We sentence criminals to prison because they killed....to teach them a "lesson", and yet they continue to kill other inmates who were not sentenced to death....and yet they kill them without a thought. We put them away and think; "Oh well, out of sight, out of mind".

We PAY for them to live in relative comfort while armed forces live live in despicable conditions, by choice, to secure our freedom and that of others.
The conduct illegal actions within and without the prison system, as if it didn't exsist. What justice is this?

I will never lose an hour of sleep when a convicted criminal dies for his crimes.

God Bless Tejas!

Yes, they use that commandment that says "thou shalt not kill," however a Jew told me that it really says "thou shalt not murder." I figure that, since God gave the 10 Commandments to the Jews, they would be the experts on what they said. Murder is a legal term. Executing a criminal is not murder since it is legal to do that.

Some time back I posted an article that said that executing a criminal save something like eight lives on average because of the example you gave above, getting out of prison early etc.
