Default Bizarre story about a homemade "armored" bulldozer in Colorado

Some nutcase went on a rampage before he blew his brains out, and this is a video of the path of destruction he left in his wake.

Looks like a tornado hit.

I couldn't get it to load, Dan, but saw it on TV. Tornado describes it! Did I hear right that it was an armored dump truck?

It was a bulldozer that was made into an armored bulldozer, and the guy who did this knew what he was doing, as there were two layers of reinforced concrete that the police tried using explosives on and could not get through.

Thanks, Dan. Bulldozer makes more sense than dump truck. I found the url below and found out that he "armored up" (is that what it's called?) this dumptruck himself.

This is deplorable. How could a obviously disturbed person obtained such a dangerous piece of equipment? Are they locked up and secured at night? Don't you have to have some kind of license or pass a test to get one?

Its obvious that Catapiller ( a non-union company too ), the manufactuer, and who ever owned it, should be held responsible for shoddy security and ease of being able to use for destructive and illegal actions.

Legislation should immediately be introduced to require a rework of the Cats controls and security systems for their vehicles. Also there should be new federal standards to ensure that such huge, mosterours equipment is secured and guarded at night.

This is an important matter of public safety!!!!!
