Default Christmas cards - American Legion

When or if you get your little sample of Christmas cards in the mail from the American Legion this year... please do consider sending in some money to them.

Our situation is as follows:

- Our WWII vets are dying off at an accelerating rate.

- Our Korea "Police Action" vets ain't getting any younger either.

- Our Vietnam vets have been MIGHTY slow to catch the importance of the American Legion.

- The AL women's Auxilliary, who have stood fast through thick and thin for a great many years, are not being thought well enough of by the current batch of females to take the time to provide the necessaries, and are not getting any younger themselves.

- Heaven only knows what the Desert Storm, OEF and OIF vets and their women are likely to think of us.

- When all else might fail, Americans can and should depend upon the Legion, VFW and DAV men and women to come to the aid.

Send some bucks, please.

Lame as we are, we are the last bastion of defense... and we WILL rise to the occasion!

Sir Blue

In agreement with you about this donation priviledge.

I agree and adhere and have it in action.

In some of the packages comes a card to be signed by the person responding and the veterans answer the cards. That makes my heart sing.

I think a lot of them go the the VFW. My son has a membership there. As for the AL, my ex went to a meeting in the mid-70's and ran into some who were opposed to the Nam War and let him know. He never went back which I think is a shame. I wonder how much that happened?

I don't understand what you are getting at here. I was invited to join the AL Auxiliary...should look into that.

The AL and VFW are a powerful voice in politics and for veterans and, for that reason alone, we should support them. Of course there are a myriad more reasons....

You got me thinking, Sir Blue.
