Default creature comfort
When I was in the military we didnt have it easy like these young pups do today. We didn't get no fancy company made commode, no sir, we had to go out and find clay and dirt to make our own from scratch. Platoon Sgts yelling at us the whole time "your commodes not worth a krap" or "your doing a krappy job". And when we got done we were proud of what we had made and knew we had done good in the eyes of the 1st Sgt.

Todays younguns just go out and buy em without any remorse. They even freely take em to the field they are so cheap and common. Not even worth a Platoons Sgts "humph".

I'd bet that you even dropped your pants in order to take a dump. A clean porceline bowl like the one pictured must make dropping pants a thing of the past.

Only constant is lack of real toilet paper so newspaper then & now serves a dual purpose.
