| Great Seaman ![]() | all of us had bad jobs in which we hated. what was yours? mine was when I was 19. was seeing this girl and her father offered me a job in his underground contracting company. I left my current job as a pressman to work for him. job was to lay 200 lb. sewer pipes in 6 feet of water in new developments. (here, you dig 3 feet and you hit water) I remember it being chilly out and rainy.I did get to learn to operate a bulldozer though. between developments,we did odd jobs like installing pumps in a wet well at doral country club. had roaches and maggots all over the place. not to mention human waste floating by me. I never been so sick in my life! stayed 4 months when I finally said enough. got my old job back as a pressman and stayed there another 14 years!

| Icing Queen ![]() | I never had a job I didn't like until my last position at the hospital where I work. Three years of Hell! The supervisor is from another country, an older gentleman, and he still thinks women should be at home in the kitchen, waiting on their man. I spoke with another woman the other day who said she only last 3 days with him.

| Cricket ![]() | The worst job I had was when I was 15 I had to call people and sell them the Newspaper. When I say had to sell I mean it. I was ordered to get the people to buy the paper no and ifs or buts. I was given a small town that had elderly or very poor people living in it. I just could not get stern with them and tell them how important it was to have the paper knowing that they needed all their money for food and bills. The elderly people would always say " no thank you honey but I can not afford the paper but thank you so much for calling and asking me" Well needless to say I would say your welcome and have a nice day. My boss a huge man came up to me after several calls like that and just started yelling at me. I was trying to explain that these people had no money and he interruped me and said " I know I was monitoring your call! I don't care how little money they have. The paper is cheap and it keeps all of us in a job, now shut up and make your calls and do it right" I at first started crying but then stood up told him to shove his job and picked up the phone to call my mother to come and pick me up. He yelled "no your fired" and my mother who was on the phone told me to say " then give me my paycheck now if I am fired since that is the law" He was so mad, he cut me a check and I hung up with my mother and as I was walking out I yelled "hey fatazz I quit and flipped him off ". I know that was not a nice thing to do at any age but I was so mad that he didn't care about the poor people in that town all he cared about was making a buck. I left there and went back to work at the nursing home that I had been at since I was 13 ( I was a volunteer there and had bingo ect... for them and then when I was older I worked as a nursing assistant. Now that was a job that I really loved ![]()

| Banned ![]() | Never had a job I didn't enjoy - some I enjoyed more than others. My favorite job was my first job - where I learned my profession. It was in a hospital run by Carmelite nuns who had unfortunately had taken a vow of poverty and expected their employees to do the same ! I absolutely LOVED the environment of the hospital and hospital convent but I had to pay rent (back in those days a mere $150/mo for a very nice two-bedroom apartment across the street from the college I was attending), utilities, and school fees. My least favorite has been working from home because I just don't like not being around people and in the midst of all of the chaos! Today, once Edison shuts the neighborhood down for "upgrades", I will be hitting the bricks looking for the opportunity to return to the real world in a real office once again! But, I never had a job that I just hated. Never had a coworker I did not truly enjoy, either. I've been blessed and lucky, I guess. |

| Fallen Member ![]() | I worked a few days in an auto body shop. My job was sanding, Bondo, metal, paint, or any other surface the boss wanted sanded. He constantly told me to sand out the f***ing pores. Today I still cannot recognize a f***ing pore. See Quote:
