| Icing Queen ![]() | That's a bit of history that we don't hear much about. Though it wouldn't be PC now, I'm sure at the time, the US felt it was necessary.

| Great Seaman ![]() | as a kid,I learned about this. amazing that it just disapears in history.I had just run into this today and thought it was nesessary to put it up. we did whatever we had to do in this war to end it with victory. they say war is hell? no...war is who survives in the end and we did!

| Racy Ol' Lady ![]() | Japan's own war lord, Tojo, warned them about attacking the U.S. But with Germany fighting in Europe and allied with Japan to attack us on the west, they felt they could win. Nobody seemed to pay attention to what Japan was doing prior to December 7, 1941. They overlooked all the attacks on China, for instance - the massacre of so many innocent people. The Rape of Nanking - one of the most brutal, horrifying acts ever perpetrated by one people against another. This bombing was horrible - but if ever a people had to suffer for what their leaders did, then let this be a lesson to us in our treatment of people we encounter in the Mid East and elsewhere. There's an old saying, "What goes around, comes around." This horror was Japan's time of finding out the truth in that saying. Dresden was Germany's. I am sorry those things are in our history - but it was in retaliation, it was not for any gain for this country, personal or national. It was simply to avoid having that happen here. By then, we not only had Nanking and other Chinese cities to show us what to expect if the Japanese won - we also had Bataan, Corregadore (sp?) and the Philippines - the death marches of captive U.S. Marines. And on and on... We bombed the Japanese, yes; they'll get no apologies from me. I'm one of those still waiting for an apology for Pearl Harbor.
