Default Buying and Trading Stocks

Does anyone here do any buying/trading using an internet broker (if that's what they are called)?

I am interested in buying/trading stock online, but do not know how to go about setting up an account...nor do I know which online company's are the best and most reputable to go with.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yes I do. I can recommend, through personal experience as well, Ameritrade for your stock trades.

It is amazingly easy ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT. Do not be scared of finding out the details, they are easy to grasp and you can make some very easy money this way, believe me. I have played around with it very little, actually, but I'm lucky cause the ones I have chosen have done well.

Anyway, go to the Ameritrade account to open one up. You may need your banks address and routing number, found on the bottom of your checks, to get it rolling, I don't remember as I opened it up about two or three years ago.

You will get a monthly email that has a link for you to sign in and check your account. If you have trouble online you can get help 24 hrs. a day on the phone as well.

I cannot believe anyone pays a commission to a stock broker these days. Trades, I believe, are $10.99 per transaction. Your first 30 days I think they are all free. You only pay the transaction, I believe, when you sell or when you trade. Hope this helps. I have not touched my account for over 6 months. I bought 10 shares at $43.00 of Exxon/Mobil, and forgot about them. Today the stock has risen to $63.00 a share I think. I'll let it ride and forget about it again.

SG I am an ole dog and I still do my trading over the phone. I have had the same broker for years. But for the internet I have been told that Ameritrade is good. Also I have been advised that you can open an account with most brokers and at the same time set it up so you can trade over the internet. Hey you know what, PM Paul ( SFGA ) ask him he was in part of the trading game for years. He might be able to give you better information.
