Unhappy Tsunami...Photo essay

I just received some photo's from a friend of the disaster and thought I would share them with everyone. Un believable what sort of power that water contained. And from the looks of the people standing there, it caught all of them by surprise. With no reference point to something of this nature to clue them in, they were sitting ducks.

Dan, going into the site looking for those pics or the link. Thanks for the heads up on the intel. Devastating to say the least even if in China.

Like a needle in a haystack. I saw the page that refers to it as a tital surge. Doing a google search I was able to come up with a page from the site called 11th Hour which contains Major Disasters Worldwid:2002. It does not specifically mention this event, but does list various disasters of China for that year.

http://www.e11th-hour.org/resources/...ters.2002.html

The following is a link with a compulation of information concerning the tsunami that occurred in Dec.

Whereever these were taken, I'm glad that you posted them. They show it from the time it hit a shore and the people in them give it scale. It is amazing anyone could survive that power.

The thing about a disaster such as this is there is no where to run. you are going to get struck not matter what. Must be a scary thought to see it coming right at you and not be able to get out of the way of it.
