New scam??

I do not use Sun Trust Bank so no problem but I got this in an email and it is surely a scam since it directs you to a freeserver.com address. Just a FYI.

Dear SunTrust Bank Account Holder



We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your SunTrust Bank account from a foreign IP address and we have reasons to believe that your account was hijacked by a third party without your authorization.



If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you are the rightful holder of the account, click on the link below, and update your account now.

The log in attempt was made from:

IP address: 205.188.209.166

ISP host: cache-dq04.proxy.aol.com



If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to temporally suspend your account.

Looks like yet another chain e-mail, only this one disguised as a security warning, and hopefully will fined a Sun Trust bank member.

And even if they do, there is the off-chance they are an idiot and will transfer thousands of their own dollars to this guys bank account.

I have been getting this kind of crap through my AKO account recently. Someone with an AKO account appears to have "data mined" the white pages, and I got sucked onto the list. Nasty business, however it is interesting to see the spamers getting more sophisticated.

If all these guys get is one or two peoples socials or account info for 100,000 emails sent, they can probably call themselves succesful.

Think I need to call the AKO help desk to change my email address.
