Coat of Arms

i recieved various messages about my avatar so I thought I'd share and see who ites. The phoenix is a part of my coat of arms (not this particualr one, but one nonetheless). It signifies ever changing life, eternity and purity in its most purest form. Well sounds a lil strnage to most, but it makes sense and I like the sound of it. I'm thinking of renovating my families design to update it. Does anyone know of theirs or have any comments on the phoenix, copat of arms....or anything surrounding the topics stated above?

We have various Coats of Arms in the family, Phoenix. The Snowden one has a peacock in full plumage on it. I have no idea what that's all about, but it's very pretty. My mother's family has some signs of royalty, but the lion rampant on a red field is the most obvious. It's simple, clean and beautiful. The one with my maiden name has the bar sinestre - some bast*rd got in!

Frankly, I like yours better than any - except the lion, certainly. I love what your phoenix represents.

Gracias Snowden. I think my family a while back either came from more eastern roots or somewhere.....where my family has been living before America I thought would leave them without knowledge of what a phoenix is. Well thanks for the reply, hope to get more, stay in touch!

I just want to add that I love your name too. There is a crest for my family too, but I've never paid much attention to it. Maybe I should...might be interesting.

My coat of arms is a silver shield with a bend divided chequey ermine and black between two red lions heads, and three gold billets on a blue chief.

The official family motto is supposed to be "Semper Fidelis".

It's Latin, Phoenix. It means "always faithful." It's the motto of the Marines, also.
