Yesterday was the day of one of our aikido organisation's grading courses. What happens is everyone who wants to sit a grading gets together for a couple of hours of training, working solely on their grading syllabus before there is a chance to grade. These courses are every six weeks or so (though the next course is in September due to Doshu coming to the UK next month and a course in Luxemburg in July) and are generally held at a different dojo each time. So far this year we've had the coldest winter on record with the last of the snow only about 6 weeks ago in some places then heavy frost in parts of the country last week and the week before and now we have summer. Spring seems to have lasted all of 3 weeks. 20C here at 9am today and it must have been around 25C around lunchtime. My parents insist on calling me "Anthony" but you know what parents are like for doing things like that. I'm 23 years old, from County Durham in the north east of England (yes, I'm a Limey but no, I'm not a Geordie - I'm a Pit Yacker) and currently unemployed with no military experience. If I have no military past, what brings ...
