Time For A Break

This entry will probably come as a bit of a shock to some people who've read my journal in the past, but since when has something like that stopped me saying summat?

Since around Christmas I've been a lot less enthusiastic towards training. When I've been home its become simply something to do rather than something I particularly enjoy. Its like I go to training out of habit, and essentially my heart hasn't been in it.

When we were asked who was competing in the federation competition at Easter I was the last person to put my name down when normally I'm one of the first. It wasn't down to not training before the competition, but I just didn't know if I could be bothered to compete. I chose to for the club, but while the competition was a good day out it didn't keep me entertained as much as it has done in previous years.

The icing on the cake has been this past week. Both nights at PMAC we've got to second session, Sensei has sorted the groups out and said "Just go through your own stuff, Anth." When it happened on Monday it didn't bother me too much, but when the same thing happened on Thursday I thought "you know I've been training on my own like this for the past two years, would it be too much hassle to put me with the others training for nidan?" I very nearly said "ok then, I'll see you next week if I'm going to be doing absolutely naff all."

In addition to general training, apparently Sensei mentioned at the club presentation night that the weapons work in the competition was "lacking". Of course its lacking! We haven't done weapons work in the club for the past 2 years, and even then it was one session every 3 months or so!

Yep, time for a break methinks.
