Default Jess Kersey ejects Spurs mascot

Before Wednesday, the Spurs also didn't think of their mascot as a
troublemaker. Veteran referee Jess Kersey ejected the Coyote after the third
quarter of the team's victory over Minnesota for pretending he was going to
fight Timberwolves guard Wally Szczerbiak.

Why didn't the coyote just let Bowen karate kick him again?

And what is up with the non-sequitur of a coyote as mascot anyway? Only
Wile E. ever wore boots, and then only if they had rockets attached.

Until last year, the Cavs had a an edgy surfer polar bear, for some reason. And
the Suns have that gorilla. I've always figured that there was some great joke
behind these things that I just wasn't smart enough to figure out.

the suns had a great mascot that was true to the team name all worked out,
but they couldn't get the pyrotechnical permits.

so i think they found the gorilla suit at a rummage sale.

According to a reporter on ESPN, he actually blew the whistle
and yelled "The coyote is out!"

Back around the early/mid-1990s, I saw a Wizards (maybe then Bullets)
vs. Pistons game in the old Capital Center where Washington used to
play, in which the refs kicked out "Hoops," the Washington mascot.
Can't remember exactly what it was that the mascot did ... --Joe
