| Civilians | The rule where you aren't allowed to back your man in for more than 5 seconds is stupid. What if you isolate on one side of the court, and then proceed to put on a bunch of one on one moves for over 5 seconds. What's the difference? Duncan pretty much faces up on his guy all the time, when he does his bank shot. And he often holds it for more than 5 seconds. It's the same thing. The refs never make this call anyways so why even bother? -- "The last duty of a central banker is to tell the public the truth." - Alan Blinder, former Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve |

I'm glad the NBA put this rule in, it keeps the ball moving somewhat... |

I'm glad >the NBA put this rule in, it keeps the ball moving somewhat... It's inelegant from a design standpoint. It's gerrymandering. Let the defense doubleteam, or call the charge, or something. This is one where you CAN "let 'em play". Rick Hohensee Precision Mojo Engineer |

People stopped watching (Charles wasn't the only practitioner), so the rule was added. |
