Fascinating. He leaves Atlanta, but refuses to come to NY. What does that
tell you about how Camp Steinbrenner is viewed?

Steinbrenner should retire, and the Tampa complex should be closed!

The bigger question is: Why did he leave the Braves in the first place. He
had a job for life there.

All good things come to an end. Schuerholz is 65 and thinking about
retirement, Cox is 64, Mazzone is 57, and Perlozzo is a long time
friend.

More money, better job security, taking on a big challenge before he
retires..he probably felt that it was finally time to move on.
Especially with some of the old guard changing in Atlanta.

Mazzone is a good fit for Baltimore, because they need direction and
are likely to hand him the keys to the entire organization from top to
bottom. The Yankees would not have given him such treatment.

>From what I hear, Angelos is no picnic either. And I don't know how

long Perlozzi will last. I would put the over/under at less than 3
years.
